Credit Card Charges

Your billing statement will show charges from R'Chel Enterprises for purchases placed at Stormsong.org. Charges are automatically processed through a real time gateway, via your choice of eProcessingNetwork or PayPal, at the time you place your order. This means that when your order is placed you are authorizing your card to be charged right then.

By purchasing through us you agree that you are the lawful account holder for the credit card, bank account or paypal account that you use to purchase these products. You agree that you will pay the amount of product cost and shipping to receive your product. We take credit card fraud very seriously and actively work with enforcement officials to assist prosecution of individuals who perpetrate internet credit card fraud.

Credit Card Security, Processing Services & Info

We utilize your choice of processors to process your financial information. When you check out you can select to process your Visa, MC, AmericanExpress, or Discover through eProcessingNetwork, whom we have a merchant gateway agreement with - or - you can select to process your Visa, MC, AmericanExpress, Discover, E-Check or PayPal account through PayPal. You do not have to have a PayPal account to purchase from us & have PayPal process your credit card or e-check. We feel PayPal has become the front-runner in fraud protection for both merchants & customers, though many people still prefer to use their credit card only through a gateway merchant account. Because of this, we are offering you a choice of processing services at this time.

**note about PayPal**
We've found out from the PayPal developer's forum admins that there is one little weirdness that we want to make you aware of. We say that you don't have to have a PayPal account to have them process your credit card, and that is true - you don't; however, if you've ever allowed a PayPal cookie to be set on your computer, then PayPal gets it in its head that you are going to checkout & use your PayPal account & won't show you the credit card option....at first. To get around that peskiness....click on the "Sign Up" link as if you don't have a PayPal account. The page that takes you to will now allow you to pay by credit card - without signing up for a PayPal account. It's wonky, we know...but remember we have nothing to do with how PayPal works. :)

About CVV2 Coding. This is the 3 digit code on the back of your visa/mastercard/discover card, or the 4 digit code on the front of your american express card. These codes are unique. Please enter yours on the payment when you go to the secure server. This is an security step which helps prevent the use of your card number should someone have gotten ahold of it but does not physically have your card in hand.

Cancellation Policy

Orders placed with us cannot be cancelled past 5pm on the day they were placed without incurring cancellation fees. If cancelled prior we can void your payment & order. If cancelled after that time, a $15.00 cancellation fee will be assessed to cover processing fees for the refund. However - many items simply cannot be cancelled. There will be no cancellation allowed of any item which is handcrafted, or special ordered. No cancellation is allowed on herbs, bath & body, candles, incense, home fragrance items, clothing, artisan creations. If we have to cancel an order because color/size/fragrance is unavailable you will be offered the option of choosing a different color/size/fragrance. If we do not hear from you before the allowed cancellation time and you opt not to substitute then cancellation fees apply and will be assessed when refunding.

Return Policy

We wish you to be happy with your purchase. We do not knowingly ship out broken or faulty merchandise. Each item in your package is inspected by two separate individuals (R'Chel & Rogue) on its way to you. Our return policy is as follows:

  • Request return authorization within 3 days of package delivery.
  • An Authorized Return Number will be issued via email for accepted returns. This number must be clearly visible on the outside of the returned package. Returns without the authorization number will NOT be accepted.
  • Do not ship any additional items besides the item authorized back to us.
  • Authorized returns must be received back within 10 days of the date of authorization. After 10 days our return authorization expires.
  • All items returned must be insured, and should have tracking or delivery confirmation. This is for the customer's protection.
  • We do not refund shipping in either direction. The exception to this is if the return is due to our mistake. Postage is credited then in the lesser of the amount it cost us to get it to you, or your return postage. Credit is via store gift certificate only.
  • Returns & exchanges are subject to a fee as follows:
      Returns: $15.00 or 20% (whichever is greater) restocking fee against the product total reduced by any promotional discounts used. We will issue a store credit via Gift Certificate for future purchase. We do NOT give cash refunds.
      Exchanges: 10% restocking fee. Shipping for the exchanged for item & restocking fee must be paid prior to the exchange being shipped.
  • Returns of products utilizing promotional/discount shipping will be assessed the greater of discount shipping/actual shipping before restocking fee is assessed.
  • Returned items must be in new condition, ie. their bag, box, etc must be intact, packaged items must be unopened & any return/exchange must be in resellable condition otherwise the return will be refused.
  • Please initiate your return request via our Contact Us form. The following are needed to process your request:
    1. Customer's full name
    2. customer's phone number
    3. email address to reply to
    4. Order Number
    5. Item that return is requested for
    6. Reason for request
  • Despite wanting you to be happy with your purchase, there are items we simply cannot & do not accept returns on. These are the items that we do not accept returns or exchanges on under any circumstance outside of documentable shipping damage (see Shipping Damage.) All sales are final on the following:
    • clearance items
    • bath & body products of any kind
    • cosmetic items of any kind (including faerie dust)
    • candles, incense & other consumable items
    • herbs
    • clothing
    • oils
    • containers
    • cross stitch patterns
    • art prints
    • items delivered electronically - i.e. downloadable spells
    • spell kits & altar kits
    • personalized jewelry
    • handcrafted items of any kind (including handpainted, handsewn, handdyed, hand-turned wooden items)
    • items crafted by artisans in England/Europe (Alchemy Gothic), Canada, Egypt, or Australia
    • gold jewelry
    • jewelry ordered in a specific size (your local jeweler can size your ring for you)
    • items we do not normally stock but bring in per special request/order; and items ordered in quantities which require us to order in special for you in excess of the quantity we normally stock.
    • quantities of more than 1 of an item - if you need multiple items, but aren't sure of a particular item then only order 1 of it to begin with so that you can be certain of a larger future purchase. (If we're told that an item purchase is in consideration of a larger volume purchase, and the larger volume purchase is placed within 30 days of original purchase we will credit the original shipping charge towards the larger purchase.)
Please note that:
  • We do not authorize returns by phone. Please see above for instruction on utilizing the Contact Us form to initiate your return request.
  • We do not send products out 'on approval'.
  • Imperfections in natural materials (wood, stone, gemstones, metal, paper, etc) are not valid reasons for return request unless the flaw creates a structural defect & prevents normal use of the item.
  • Items needed by a specific date which is not conveyed to us BEFORE an order is placed ("before" does not mean "at checkout" - it means email us first & ask us) to verify that meeting said date is possible, are not returnable for our failing to have met the date. If you need something by a specific date please ask first, we can advise if & then convey options about how a date can be met.
  • Do not ship items back to us without authorization. A note accompanying your return, or an email telling us it's being returned does not constitute authorization. Items sent back without authorization (per above) will result in the return being refused.
  • All sales are final on auction merchandise. No exceptions.

    Attention parents

    Since our sales are made online and credit card authorization is electronic, we have no way of knowing the age of the purchaser. Merchandise that has been purchased without the approval of his/her parents by a minor using his own credit card, or his/her parent's credit card (many persons under age 18 have them) are subject to our Return Policy. We feel that if you feel your child is responsible enough for a credit card of their own, or to have one of your cards (even if for 'emergency purposes') that the purchases they make to said card falls under the same return guidelines as everyone elses. Athames should not be purchased by those under 18 years of age; however, we have no way of checking ID. Please utilize good sense if you are a pagan minor and ask your parent to order the item for you instead.

    Packing Materials

    We recycle packing materials whenever possible. This includes newspaper, styrofoam, bubble wrap, peanuts, paper shreds, etc that would have otherwise been discarded. We also recycle boxes when an appropriate box is available.

    Availability of Products

    We try to have everything available to be able to ship your order within 3-10 business days after we receive your order. Occasionally an item may be temporarily out of stock because we do have a lot of people ordering and someone could have ordered all of what we had of what you wanted before we were able to update the store.

    On large orders if there is an item on backorder, we will generally back-order the unavailable item and send you a partial shipment so that the rest of your items are not delayed. On small orders or orders of only the unavailable item, we can give you an approximate date we expect to have the item. Please always include a valid email address or phone number so we can advise you of any delays. If you have questions about the status of your order, please email us at the above address and cite your order #, items and the name you ordered under. Refunds on out of stock clearance items will only be via store gift certificate.

    Maximum refund amount is price of item less any promotional discounts extended at time of purchase. Shipping is refunded only if the permanently out of stock item is the only item on the order.

    If you wish to allow us to make substitutions please note that in the comments section - at checkout - along with any preference on substituted color/stone/etc. We will try to abide by your wishes, but cannot guarantee substitution. Substitutions are no longer available after refund has been made and we invite you to reorder.

    Shipping & Promotional/Discount Shipping

    Orders utilizing discount shipping (when offered) will be shipped in entirety only, via the shipping method chosen at checkout.

    If there is going to be a substantial wait for a product in an order using discount shipping an email will be sent to ask whether you prefer to have your order

    2. ship available items & backorder the remainder at additional shipping charges for the backordered items
    3. ship available items & take store credit for the unavailable items

    Pricing & Order Acceptance

    We make every effort to keep our pricing current and correct. In the case of mismarked items, we reserve the right to correct prices on our pages. We will contact you via email with the correct price and ask if you're still interested in purchasing the item, or remove it from your order & refund.

    Prices are subject to change without notice. We both raise & lower prices in response to market conditions.

    Your receipt of an electronic, or any other form of, order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of your order, neither does it constitute a confirmation of our offer to sell. We reserve the right to, at any time after receipt of your order & without prior notice to you, to accept or decline the order.

    Rush Service

    Whether or not we can offer Rush Service on your order depends on the item(s) ordered and when you need them by, and if payment for Rush Service is received in time to accomodate the request.

    Fees: Handcrafted items that are required via Rush Service will carry a 30% extra handling fee to be paid before rush treatment. Non handcrafted items that require rush service via customer request will be charged an additional 20% to be paid before rush treatment. In addition, express shipping fees may also be incurred if you wish your order shipped via expedited shipping using your FedEx shipper number as outlined in the Express Shipping section below. Please note that some handcrafted items such as handsewn items, and candles cannot be rushed - (wax only hardens so fast). Please email us through the Contact Us form to ask about Rush Service on the item(s) in your order.

    * Note *: If you choose not to email us, and instead make a note in the Comments section at checkout that you need your order by a specific date without checking with us first, the request will probably not be honored. You must ask us prior to your order! Unfortunately in the past we've had too many bad experiences with rush service requests via the Comment box.

    Rush fees must be paid via a PayPal transaction initiated by the customer with a comment entered into the payment notes that this payment is for Authorized Rush treatment of an Order so that this charge cannot be disputed at a later date.

    If you know someone's birthday is 3 weeks away, order now! You'll most likely end up with it in hand with 2 weeks to spare. :) Don't wait for the last week and take the chance of discovering that the particular item you want to get them is temporarily out of stock and will be back in and available to ship the day after you wanted to give it to them. Telling us after your order is placed that you need it by a certain date is unacceptable....if you're on a deadline we need to know upfront. This way we can let you know if an item is out of stock so that you can select something else perhaps, or choose to wait & let your recipient know something special is coming for them a little late.

    Shipping Rates

    Shipping rates via ground service are shown at checkout, prior to completing your sale - for both domestic & international orders. We will ship your order via the method chosen during checkout. International orders may incurr additional shipping charges before the order ships (see Shipping-International section). You will be notified if this is pertains to your order (it doesn't pertain to the vast majority of orders, just enough that we have to mention it). Adjustments necessary to ensure shipping and handling charges are accurately placed to your account must be paid prior to our shipping of your order.

    Shipping - International

    Please choose the country you actually live in so that shipping charges can be properly calculated. International customers who claim their country as United States, or select a US/Canadian state during checkout (but who do not live in Canada) in order to lower their delivery charges will either: 1) be required to pay the balance of shipping charges before order acceptance, or 2) have the entire order deleted & payment voided. It's really not worth trying to sneak it by us - we catch every instance of falsely claimed U.S. shipping by International customers & we have a zero tolerance policy for it. If our stance on this upsets you, we're fine with that.

    Retail orders shipping outside of the United States, and totaling less than $40 in product are shipped via customers' choice of USPS Priority International or USPS First Class International, as chosen during checkout.

    We do not utilize FedEx, UPS, DHL, Airbourne, or any other shipping company other than USPS for orders shipped outside of the United States.

      Priority International
    • Insurance is provided on Priority International packages.
    • Priority International packages typically take 5-20 days in transit.
      First Class International
    • Insurance is not available on First-Class International orders-choose it at your own risk!
    • We are not responsible for anything that happens to your First-Class International package once it leaves our hands & is transmitted to the postal service.
    • By selecting First-Class International mail class during checkout of your order with us you acknowledge this, accept full responsibility, and agree not to hold us liable -in any way- for packages sent outside the U.S. via First-Class International mail which are not delivered, are not delivered in their entirety, are damaged, are held by customs for any reason, or which you are charged additional fees on by your government to receive.
    • First-Class International packages typically take 10-30 days in transit.

    If you have questions about your package, after it has been shipped, please contact your post office. Most times when customers feel it's taking too long for delivery, their package is waiting to be picked up. Whether you've received a notice to claim your parcel or not, checking with your post office is always the best first choice.

    Depending on the mail class chosen during checkout, packages are supposed to be delivered in 5-20 business days; however, it may take up to 6 weeks for international shipments to reach their destination. We highly recommend checking with the postal service & customs department of the recipient country if it is felt that delivery is taking too long. Delayed packages have been known to be in customs awaiting claim by the recipient & customs is not always good about notifying the end customer. We have NO control over transit time.

    Shipping - Lower 48 United States

    Retail orders shipping within the lower 48 United States, and totaling less than $100 in product are shipped via customers' choice of USPS, or FedEx Ground, as chosen during checkout. We currently utilize USPS Priority, USPS First Class, and USPS Media Mail when USPS is chosen, at our discretion, depending on the package contents.

    Retail orders shipping within the lower 48 United States, and totaling more than $100 in product are shipped via FedEx Ground only. Orders totalling over $200 in product cost require signature delivery (no exceptions).

      FedEx
    • Orders shipped via FedEx have tracking numbers, which are emailed to you by FedEx, if you accept email from fedex.com.
    • Signature service is not used as a matter of course, though we may at our discretion require signature on high value packages. Signature service is paid for by us in these situations.
    • If you wish to purchase signature service for your package that we would not normally ask for signature on, then contact us prior to placing your order & we can instruct you on the additional charges that you will incur.
    • FedEx shipments are insured.

      USPS
    • Orders shipped via USPS have delivery confirmation numbers - these are not tracking numbers! If you need tracking, please select FedEx shipping during checkout.
    • USPS shipping is not insured-choose it at your own risk!.
    • We are not responsible for anything that happens to your USPS shipment once it leaves our hands & is transmitted to the postal service.
    • By selecting USPS shipping during checkout of your order with us you acknowledge this, accept full responsibility, and agree not to hold us liable -in any way- for packages sent via USPS which are not delivered, are not delivered in their entirety, are damaged, or which are held by your post office for any reason.

    Shipping - Express

    We do not offer Express Shipping, but we will ship your items via your own FedEx shipper number at your request. Please email us BEFORE placing your order to request express shipping and let us know what you wish to have Express shipped via your FedEx shipper number. Handling charges will apply to orders shipped via customer FedEx shipper number. Express delivery shipments must be signed for directly - by the person placing the order - no exceptions. Please do not ask us to express ship your order unless you agree to everything in this paragraph and already have your FedEx shipper number (you can get one for free at FedEx.com).

    Express shipping is generally expensive as it involves air travel, and air package rates are calculated using a system of weight to volume. However, a small, heavy package can cost less to ship express than a large, light package. With the vastly different sizes and weights of products we offer, it would be impossible to come up with an express shipping rate to offer through the shopping cart. Each express package is handled on an individual basis and varies according to the dimensions, weight & destination of the end package. If you wish your order to be given Rush Service as well as Express Shipping, please see the Rush Treatment paragraph above. EXPRESS SHIPPING ALONE DOES NOT RUSH YOUR ORDER TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE!

    Damage/Loss Handling - Insured Shipments Only

    Occassionally, a package is damaged or lost in transit. We will assist with the claims process if you chose a shipping method which is described as insured in the Shipping Sections.
    Please notify us via the Contact Us form within 24 hours of delivery of your package to report damage, or loss. In the case of loss of package shipped via 3rd party insured USPS to AK, HI, Military (also PR & GU), a package cannot be filed on until 30 days have elapsed. In the case of damage on an insured package, regardless of delivery company, ALL packaging materials must be kept so that they can be inspected upon request by the delivery company. Failure to assist with an insurance investigation will render your claim null & void.

    Alternate Shipping Address

    We can ship to an alternate shipping addresses as long as:

    • The desired shipping address is input at checkout
    • We receive a fax to 1-301-729-7834 authorizing shipping to an address that is not your billing address. This fax needs to contain the following:
      1. Your Name
      2. Your billing address (this is the one on file with the credit card company or your verified PayPal address
      3. Your shipping address
      4. The last 4 digits of your card # (do not send your entire card # in the fax)
      5. The CVV # (3 digit code on the back of the card)
      6. Expiration Date
      7. Your Signature (without signature we cannot accommodate you).
    Without an authorization fax we do not ship to alternate shipping addresses but will instead ship to your billing address.

    Address Changes, Undeliverable Bad Address & Refused Shipments

    Due to actual occurrences, we implement the following regarding FedEx change of delivery address:
    • If your package is incorrectly labeled by us (i.e. it does not match the address # you input to have your order shipped to), we will absorb the charge to have it corrected.
    • If the final delivery address does NOT match the address # you input to have your order delivered to, you will incur a $10.00 address change fee plus the difference between shipping to the original destination & the end destination.
    • If an order is refused - or if the address given is not sufficient for delivery - or the item is returned by the delivery company because the recipient didn't respond to delivery attempt notices - the customer is responsible for shipping charges in both directions (the greater of shipping charged or actual shipping incurred by us) and a 25% restocking fee. The customer will be issued store credit only & notified via email. Store credit vouchers are valid for 6 months.
    • Arranging delivery is between the customer & the shipping company. We cannot reschedule deliveries for you. FedEx can be reached at 1-800-463-3339.
    • If we receive multiple delivery exception notices on your package we may contact you once to remind you to contact FedEx to arrange delivery, but it is not our responsibility to remind you to accept delivery of your package.
    • If the customer wishes to have a package returned to us for non-delivery re-shipped, an additional $5.00 handling fee, plus reshipping costs, must be paid before we ship again.

    Know Your Importation Laws!

    Athames may not be shipped to Massachusettes, or California, as their state law prohibits double edged knives. Australia confiscates athames as they do not allow bladed weapons through customs. We prefer not to ship athames anywhere outside of the U.S. as customs officials reserve the rights to search any package and seize any contents they choose. Some countries prohibit the import of particular herbs or seeds by citizens. Please know your laws. The customer takes full responsibility for taking the chance of ordering & receiving the items - in other words, if they're confiscated - we're not responsible, or liable. Confiscated goods are not covered by insurance. If you are not allowed to import an item into your country via the postal mail - please do not order it.

    Privacy Policy

    We hate spam! We value your privacy, because you probably hate spam too! We do not sell, rent, give away, or otherwise distribute your personal information in any way. If you use a credit card to pay for your order, it is on a secure server provided by PayPal or eProcessingNetwork. The receipt that is sent to us does not contain your credit card number. Your address will only be used to send your products. Your email will only be used to correspond with you about your order, and IF you choose to subscribe to our newsletter to remain up to date on what's new & discount codes. Newsletter contact is once or twice per month. Once every couple of years we send an email to everyone in our database so that we can keep our database current. We send a discount offer code within the email as a thank you for the inconvenience. Those emails which bounce are purged from the database which allows us to keep the site optimized.
