Product Description

Selenite is a type of Gypsum, one of the more common minerals in sedimentary environments. It is a major rock forming mineral that produces massive beds, usually from precipitation out of highly saline waters. Since it forms easily from saline water, gypsum can have many inclusions of other minerals and even trapped bubbles of air and water.

Gypsum has several variety names that are widely used in the mineral trade. "Selenite" is the colorless and transparent variety that shows a pearl like luster and has been described as having a moon like glow. The Satin Spar variety is a compact fiberous aggregate with a very satin like look that gives a play of light up and down the fiberous crystals.

Selenite is a beautiful member of the gypsum family which forms in clear, wand shaped crystals that sometimes have water inclusions. Selenite is a lunar stone. It is very useful for anyone who comes into contact with illusions, lies and trickery as it helps you to see through deception and hear the truth of what people are actually saying to you, despite their words. The stone teaches us to take responsibility for our actions and for what we create in the world around us.

Natural selenite scepters are 11 to 12 inches in length & 3 to 4 inches across. These are nice pieces...heavy too!
