Background:If you've had a cola beverage any time in recent history, you've probably tried kola nut. Kola nut is used to flavor many sodas. However, even before it became popular for its flavoring in soft drinks, it was used by people in Africa as an aphrodisiac and digestive aid. The kola nut is native to Africa and made its way across the Atlantic to the West Indies - probably by African slaves.
Today the kola nut is known for its abilities as an antidepressant. It's also used to improve energy and treat headaches largely due to its caffeine.

Description:
Kola nut comes from an evergreen tree that is native to Africa. While native to Africa, it's now cultivated in many tropical regions around the world. It grows as tall as 70 feet high and has white flowers. The seeds come from seed pods that grow on the tree. They are harvested when the fruit is ripe.
Dosage:
As a decoction, boil 1-2 tsp of powdered kola nut in 1 cup water. Simmer for 10-15 minutes and drink as needed.
As a tincture, take 1-2 ml 3 times daily.
Safety:
