Background:As early as the late 1500's, lady's mantle was used to treat broken bones in babies and children. It was also used to treat infertility. Interestingly, it was also used to make the female genitals contract and was popular with women who wanted to appear virgin-like.
Today it is still used in women's health, but for different reasons. It helps to treat problems such as heavy bleeding and cramps during menses. It also helps to regulate the female period.
It has also been used to help induce childbirth as well as work like a douche to reduce vaginal discharge. While it works mostly for women's health issues, it also can be useful for diarrhea and to stop minor bleeding elsewhere in the body.
