Background: Betony is most notably a good remedy for headache. While it was once thought to treat almost 50 different ailments, it is now known primarily for headache pain relief. It also has astringent and sedative properties and can treat some digestive complaints.

Description:
Wood betony is a perennial plant that is native to Europe and Asia. The aerial parts are harvested in the summer when the plant is flowering.
Dosage:
As an infusion, drink 1-2 cups daily a mouthful at a time.
As a decoction, mix 2 tsp with 1/2 cup water, drink one mouthful at a time.
Betony is traditionally a relaxing smoke yet has an intoxicating effect. It is a very powerful herb.
Betony is an excellent tea. To make Betony tea, put one teaspoon of the herb into a muslin bag and put it in a cup of boiling hot water. Cover the cup and let it steep for five minutes.
