Luna is the Latin/Roman name for the moon goddess. The religion of ancient Persia, Zoroastriamism, also knew her by that name. There is no ancient culture that does not recognize the moon as a deity, and few who do not see it as a female. The moon, waxing and waning, seems to echo the monthly changes that women experience. Its silvery beauty seems to rhyme with the the silent essence of femininity. It shines with the reflected light of the sun, mirroring the reflective inner work that women must do to nurture inner balance. For all in immense power, the moon is silent and this, also seems to find a counterpart in the special spirituality that is the birthright of each woman. The power to change, to shine, and to move in a natural course belongs to women, and reclaiming these powers will open the way for each woman, one at a time to remember herslf as an instance of the Goddess who also manifests; dancing out the moon's melody in harmony with the eternal music of the spheres.
