Background:Hyssop was once used as a cure-all tonic. It was thought to be the cure for every ailment. It is also a valuable flavor additive for some liqueurs. While it was once used for every possible ailment, hyssop is not used as frequently in modern times.
Hyssop is most useful for the respiratory tract and can be used to treat coughs, congestion, asthma, and pleurisy. Hyssop can also be used to help aid sleep. Hyssop also has uses for the digestive system to sooth indigestion and colic.

Respiratory System: Hyssop is an expectorant as well as an aid in mucus production. This helps to make a dry cough more productive. Its antispasmodic properties help to cure chronic cough as well as problems with asthma.
Sedative: Hyssop is a mild sedative and can aid sleep.
Digestion: Hyssop can relieve gas, bloating, and indigestion.

Hyssop is a shurb that grows up to 2 feet high. It is native to Europe and thrives in climates that are sunny and dry. The flowering tops are used for herbal medicines and are gathered in the summer.
Dosage:
As a tincture, take 1-4 ml 3 times daily.
As an infusion, boil 1-2 tsp of herb in 1 cup of boiling water. Infuse for 10-15 minutes and drink 3 times daily..
