Sanguisorba minor. Lacy, saw tooth edged, fan-shaped leaves. Burnet looks delicate, but quite to the contrary it is quite hardy and will continue to thrive in most mild winter areas all year long. In severe winter weather areas it is one of the first plants to make an appearance in the spring. The leaves have a tangy, fresh, cucumber-like taste.
Burnet has historically been used in folk medicine to staunch bleeding via poultice application of the leaves.
Sow directly in the early spring after danger of frost ahs passed. Cover seeds lightly in warm soil & keep moist until germination.
