Product Description

This sewing kit is an antique. We don't know how hold, only that it belonged to one of our grandmothers when she was a girl. That puts it 1915-1025. The brass is slightly spotted, but can be polished back to life easily. The tube is lipstick style, the bottom can be used as a thimble if you have small fingers (remember, people were smaller back then). There is a spool with 4 threads, all original. You can replace these with new thread if you wish to use the kit. The original needle & pin rusted, so we've replaced with new (not shown). One only.

Inside the base is a paper that reads:

and Run Stopper

For hosiery mending
moisten tab and apply
at both ends of run

We did some light research & the Schloss & Hausmann families were in the NY area during the time frame mentioned earlier, though we cannot find any info about their company or products.
