Background:Skullcap gets its name from the appearance of its seed capusles. When they're dried, they look like miniature skulls. Because of its name, it makes sense that skullcap affects the nervous system of the body. It is a powerful sedative and nerve tonic.
In addition, it can be used as an antispasmodic to relieve menstrual cramping and cause the placenta to be expelled during childbirth. Skullcap is aslso used to treat headaches caused by tension.

Skullcap is a perennial plant tha tis native to North America. It grows wild in many parts of the continent. It has green leaves and seed capusles that dry to look like skulls. The aerial parts that are used for medicinal purposes may be gathered in the summer.
Dosage:
As an infusion, take 50 ml 3 times daily.
As a tincture, take 3 ml with water daily.
Skullcap is available in tablets or capsules. Take 200 mg as a sedative..
Smoking: Clears away inhibitions and relaxes. Not to be used in combination with any medication. This is probably the most popular of all herbs among people in general because of its scent.
