1 dram glass bottles of pure essential oil. These are uncut or otherwise unadulterated essential oils.
Essential oils are as close to the plant as you can get, and in many ways you're getting more with an essential than with the actual plant due to distillation & concentration. Essential oils are a wonderful way to fragrance your home and person. Remember that a little goes a looooong way with essentials. :)
As always, please do your research when using essential oils for anything other than fragrance. Because we are not medical professions we can only advise not to take internally & discontinue use if undesired results or irritation occur.
Menthol (Mentha arvensis) USA
Methol is cooling, refreshing, and has a pleasantly strong minty aroma. Often used in cosmetics, salves, medicated creams, balms, throat lozenges, toothpaste, mouthwash, gum, foot sprays, pain relief or cooling body products, shampoos, conditioners, liniments, shaving creams, oral or throat sprays, compresses, medicated oils, and cooling gels. Menthol is excellent for use in these products to help relieve muscular aches and pains, coughing, congestion, the flu, and upper respiratory problems.
A common use is as an antipruritic, especially in insect bite treatments (often along with camphor).
In Rome, Pliny recommended that a wreath of mint leaves was a good thing for students to wear since it was thought to "exhilarate their minds". Some modern research suggests that he was right.
Menthol is often used by many campers to repel mosquitoes. It is also said that extracts from mint leaves have a particular mosquito-killing capability.
Menthol is also used as an environmentally-friendly insecticide for its ability to kill some common pests like wasps, hornets, ants and cockroaches.
Do not use full strength on skin. Dilute with water or carrier oil to use in aromatherapy. Skin irritant, eye-irritant, possible inhalation irritant, non-sensitizing, non-photo toxic, do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by a medical professional. Do not use while pregnant, or on babies.
