Angelica archangelica. Sprinkle the four corners of the house with dried leaves to ward off negativity. Added to the bath, it is said to remove any negativity that may be sent your way. The root was traditionally carried in the pocket as a gambling talisman among some American Indian tribes.
Although angelica is common in meadows and pastures throughout the country, the only one with medicinal values is archangelica. It is very hard to tell this plant apart from its cousin, so be careful where you acquire your source. It is a beautiful garden plant with purple-green leaves and white and pink flowers. Grows in zones 4-9. An infusion can be made by pouring a pint of water over an ounce of the bruised root. In folk medicine, it is said to create an aversion to alcohol. It also relieves flatulence. It has been said to help in cases of delayed menstruation.
Some of these may be classed as noxious weeds in your locale. Where I grew up on the west coast, Morning Glory is a noxious weed. Here on the East Coast it is a beloved garden flower. Just because it doesn't say poisonous after it doesn't mean you should grow it around children or animals. By purchasing you attest you know the restrictions on noxious weeds where you live. If you order them, and they get removed by customs, we are not responsible. Know your regulations & restrictions before you order.
Sold for ornamental & botanical purposes only.
