Betonica officinalis. Long celebrated as a protective and purificatory herb. The pseudo-Apuleius said that the plant protected the wearer's soul as well as the body and when placed beneath the pillow protected from harmful dreams. Betony is grown in gardens to protect he property. Plant one in each corner of the yard. Scattering near doors and windows is recommended also.
