Hypericum (poisonous) Worn, it wards off fevers and colds, and makes soldiers invincible. Tradition points to the hanging of this plant in a glass jar or bottle in front of a window as one of the earliest forms of witchs balls. Gathered and dried over Midsummer it is then hung near windows to keep negativity from the house.

Some of these may be classed as noxious weeds in your locale. Where I grew up on the west coast, Morning Glory is a noxious weed. Here on the East Coast it is a beloved garden flower.
