Is it alive? I think so. . . At least, this is the effect the artist was vying for in this 9.5 inch wand. Made of found wood and clay, the latter having been sanded to a smooth discerning touch, this piece begs to be more than just a conversation piece. The yellow, purple and green snake that has twined itself about this length is smooth, hanging in just a way as to look real without leaving holes between the serpentine body and the wood. (Such designs make the wand prone to accidental breakage, whereas this will prove to be much more sturdy.)
As the asp is a popular figure in several religions, this wand caters to those who want something natural. Do you want to invoke the spirit of the snake? Perhaps you favor them? In any case, this wand will not disappoint. Its design is one of the more serendipitious finds I've made.
Wand is approximately one inch wide and despite its questionable visual balance, has a good weight and comfort in holding it. Its balance has proven as sound.
