Venus of Willendorf -This famous earliest found image of Woman was discovered in 1908 in Austria and dates to 24,000-22,000 BCE. The original carving was created from oolitic limestone not found in the area. Oolite Limestone comes from the Greek oon for egg, and lithos for stone, and are formed when a small grain of skeletal matter or a quartz grain is coated with aragonite crystallites and forms a less than 2 mm ball. These balls gather together to form the oolitic limestone from which she was carved. It is no doubt in our minds why we are all so drawn to this Mother form. She is literally a crystalline matrix and a reflection of the heart energy we receive from her. Aragonite uplifts our emotions, lends us patience under stress, helps us work through personal life challenges with a clear head and steady hand, teaches us to give and receive graciously, and opens our brow chakra for daily living in a spiritual mind. All attributes of the Mother and her Wisdom. [Quite Large Necklace! aprox. 2-1/4" high]
