In a world of mass production, these boxes are a shining jewel of individual craftsmanship and painstaking detail. The artisans who craft these work with wood from a single tree to create each box. In this way there is consistent energy. Each design represents the feelings and mind of the particular artisan who crafted it and in the process receives its own character. When this box joins your life, it comes as a friend, bringing the joy of elegant artwork spiritual potentiality and the feeling of distinction.
Linden wood is used for these boxes, following the old Polish boxmaking tradition. They feature raised edge construction: interior walls of the boxes are lined with thin wood which rises above the lower part of the box for an air tight closing. Feather corner-joints: a wooden peg is inserted into each of the four joints for strength & durability. Hidden hinges: inserted inside the walls of the box and are almost invisible. Natural lid support: the lid does not flip down when opened but stays vertical by a notch carved along the back wall. The designs are burned by hot wire. In some cases this method is enriched by carving and brass inlay. Afterwards the wood is stained and three layers of sealer are applied to all exposed sides. Surfaces are hand cleaned with sandpaper after each segment of decoration. This diligent process, while time consuming, is responsible for the elegance and durability of the final product. These are boxes which will stand the test of time and become heirlooms if you choose for them to be.
